(New Info) 5EMAs Forex Trading System Review

July 8th, 2007 · No Comments

Here’s a little more information that i found on the background and history of the 5emas Forex Trading Course. I thought you might appreciate reading up a bit more before owning the course. ;-)

It’s not a post on everything about the 5emas Forex Trading Course (by Adam Burgoyne and Oleg A. But), but more of little interesting tidbits of information you might be curious about.

5EMAs Forex Trading System

The History

The 5emas forex trading system was developed over a course of 8 years, and from being traded in a live environment. It was originally developed to be traded on a professional level, and not as a course for the retail trader.

After an incredible amount of trial and error, and being traded extensively in a live environment over 8 years, it was finally put together as a course.

What really is the 5emas Forex Trading System?

The 5emas Forex Trading System is actually a counter-trend system. It trades against the pullbacks of a main trend, but predominantly in a day-trading fashion.

While it was developed initially to be day-traded, the 5emas Forex Trading System can be used for Scalping as well as Swing Trading.

The success rate of the 5emas system (traded by the 5emas team) is somewhere in the region of 85%+, but that comes after some experience and learning how to trade with the system. And on any given month, the wins can go up to 95%. But obviously, there are better and worse months over the course of trading.

That’s kind of obvious, because market behavior doesn’t stay the same every month. Some months are going to be more volatile and choppy, some months will tend to exhibit stronger trends. This comes from understanding and observing market behavior!

When getting into something new, there’s always a learning curve. And with a good trading system that has a high win ratio and overall profitability, going through the curve can really pay off (as some of the testimonials show).

General Logic of The 5emas Forex Trading System

The general logic of the 5emas Forex Trading System is based on the following:

  • One main rule for entering a market
  • Three exit strategies depending on what is happening with the trade

With the entry logic, it allows you to get in at better entry points, rather than chasing the trend with the rest of the herd. This is because you’re trading against the counter-trend of the main trend.

While this means that you might have to wait a bit and hold your horses when you see the herds running, it also means that you’re less likely to be caught entering the market right at the end of a trend.

And with the combination of exit strategies and scenarios, profits can usually be made regardless of the strength or duration of the market move. This is a crucial part of any trading system, the exit strategy(ies).

When is the Best Time to trade the 5emas forex trading system?

24 Hours Around The World Trading

With the Forex markets being generally open 24 hours a day the entire trading week, you can trade at anytime and from anywhere in the world. Of course, with day trading, generally the more volatility you get the better.

So this means that while there are trades popping up anytime the entire day, you’re going to get more trades coming up particularly during the UK and US sessions. However, you can still trade during your day, because you do get help with the 5ema Expert Advisor.

What does the 5ema Expert Advisor do?

The purpose of the Expert Advisor (EA) is to save you from being glued to the computer screen the entire day. The way it is used is very simple.

The EA is designed to identify the base criteria for an entry, and when a possible trade is setting up, you get alerted by a little box popping up and making some noise. What you will be shown is the pair which is setting up as well as the time the alert was triggered.

The 5ema Expert advisor allows you time away from your computer screen!

When this happens, you know it’s time to come back to your computer screen and check if you want to take the potential trade.

A bit of “time logic” has also been built into the EA, so it can actually warn you ahead of time that a possible trade is setting up. Maybe by 1, 2 or 3 pips, whatever is sensible for the market that is being traded.

With the heads up warning, you get a few extra seconds or minutes to check out the rest of the criteria for a good trade. If it fits, then go ahead with the trade. If it doesn’t, you just stay out.

Background on some of the testimonials put up on the web page

Here’s some interesting information for you about the testimonials put up on the 5emas Forex Trading System site.

#1 - The account statement showing a $5,000 account growing into $35,873 over 34 weeks:

The $5,000 that grew into $35,873 over a 34 week live unbroken period was traded using only the most conservative exit strategy.

600%+ profits in 34 weeks!

This event was what prompted the creation of the 5emas Forex Trading System. The account belonged to an investor who had placed $5,000 with the 5emas team, and after it was traded from $5,000 to $35,873, permission to use the account statement was a way of the investor saying thank you.

If you haven’t done the calculations, that’s about 600% increase in equity over a 34 week period. (And that was by shooting for just 25 pips per trade!) Wouldn’t you like that? ;-)

#2 - A trader who grew his account by 23.61% for a total dollar gain of $21,807 in only 11 trading days:

A trader (from Norway) purchased the 5emas course, and spent four weeks reading and practicing it before going live. He didn’t exactly trade it according to the rules because he cut most of his trades short.

The estimate is that if he had let the trades run, the return would have been closer to 40%, but of course, he (and most people would be) was more than happy with the returns he got.

This would be an example of someone who bought a course, actually learnt how to trade the system, and practiced it enough times before going live. This goes to show that it’s possible for a person new to the system to make profits from trading it.

Who’s the course designed for?

The course is designed to take a completely new beginner to the forex markets all the way to trading the strategies and systems. Of course, if you’re already an experienced forex trader, you can just skim through and head to the more interesting parts of the course!

It’s a 150 page eBook, and covers the following:

  • How the markets operate
  • How to calculate the pip values
  • Discusses issues like spread
  • Types of brokers available (eg. Dealing or Non-Dealing desk brokers)
  • Basically takes a new trader from knowing next to nothing to knowing more than they need to know to be a self-directed trader

Where does the Divergence System (Bonus) come in?

The Divergence System traded on its own is more like a swing trading system, where a typical trade can last from a week to a little bit longer. A reasonable Divergence System move would be somewhere between 200 - 500 pips, so it’s certainly worth having.

How the 5emas team uses it is to prevent entering potentially low probability trades.

For example:

If a short trade is signaled, but the Divergence System says that the market is reversing and about to go up, then the logical thing would be to NOT trade the short signal. You can even trade long and ride the market upwards.

This helps to reduce the number of losing trades, and helps tremendously in improving the profitability and the probability of the trades you take.

So the Divergence System can be used as a stand alone system, or it can be used to enhance the performance of the 5emas forex trading system.

You can always purchase the Divergence System on its own for $67, but it comes as a bonus for owners of the 5emas Forex Trading Course.
